Orderize

More Speed Hints

Yes, I know Orderize is not a word. That aside, some of you may not have had opportunity to explore the fascinating field of Orderology...

For grading, have the papers "orderized", in the order that the students are listed in your grade book. This will speed up putting in grades.

PGGP numbers the students as they are displayed on the grade grid.

Give all the kids their number. Make them put their number next to their name on each paper.

I didn't alphabetize the kids every time a new student comes. In Madera, I had enough mobility that if student 21 moved away, another student would probably arrive soon. The new student would end up sitting in the old student's desk, and using the old student's text books. (In fact I suggest numbering all desks and books using the PGGP number. This way you know when there is any loss or damage, who is responsible. I spent years in 6th grade and they are smart enough to get another book out of an empty desk if they loose their book.)

If someone has a late paper, it is easy to place it by number.

Having the papers in order will also facilitate the use of Number Wrong rather the the bent cardboard grade calculator in your desk. Let PGGP calculate the grade and you can write it on the paper and flip to the next paper/student.
